Hotel Linen Buying Guide

MOQ & Sampling for Custom Hotel Linen: How It Works

Minimum order quantity and sampling are where custom linen projects start. Here's how MOQ works, how to reach it, and what to expect from the sampling process.

What Is MOQ and Why It Exists

MOQ (minimum order quantity) is the smallest run a factory will produce for a given design. It exists because custom fabric, dyeing, weaving setup and embroidery have fixed setup costs that only make sense above a certain volume. Our MOQ is typically from 200 sets/pieces per design, depending on fabric and customization.

How to Reach MOQ

  • Combine sizes: several bed sizes in one fabric/color often count toward one MOQ.
  • Limit custom colors: stock or shared colors lower the threshold versus bespoke dyeing.
  • Start with core items: begin with your highest-volume SKUs and expand later.

The Sampling Process

Before bulk we make a pre-production sample so you can approve fabric, construction, color, sizing and branding. Steps:

  • Tech pack / brief → we quote and propose materials.
  • Lab dips & sample → you approve color and a physical sample.
  • Approval → we lock the spec and schedule bulk.

Sample and tooling costs depend on the product; sample cost is often credited against a bulk order.

Indicative Lead Times
StageTypical lead time
Quote~1 business day
Sample (after spec)~1–2 weeks
Bulk production~3–5 weeks (volume-dependent)

Why Sampling Protects You

Approving a physical sample removes ambiguity — you see and feel exactly what bulk will be, so there are no surprises. Never skip it on a custom program.

Indicatively: a quote in about a day, a sample in 1–2 weeks after the spec is set, and bulk production in roughly 3–5 weeks depending on volume.
