OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for Bedding & Hotel Linen Explained

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is an independent, globally recognised certification confirming that every component of a textile — fabric, thread, trims — has been tested for a long list of harmful substances and is safe for human skin contact. It is product-based, not factory-based.

Many hotel groups, retailers and import buyers require OEKO-TEX as a baseline assurance of textile safety, especially for skin-contact bedding and towels. It simplifies due diligence and reassures end guests and consumers.

We can produce to OEKO-TEX-compliant material specifications and arrange certification/testing through accredited bodies. Certification is issued per product and material on a valid certificate — we don't claim a certificate we can't evidence.

Is OEKO-TEX mandatory?

No — it's a voluntary certification, but many buyers require it contractually as a textile-safety baseline. We can supply OEKO-TEX-compliant goods and arrange certification.

Does OEKO-TEX mean organic?

No — it certifies the product was tested for harmful substances and is skin-safe; it is not the same as organic certification (e.g. GOTS), though a product can hold both.
